'Monday-itis' Note!

I love bright and pretty cheer.

It's Monday again. The alarm has gone and I drag myself from my bed. Arrg, why did I stay up so late last night?

Well, the weekend was so fun that I was still enjoying it way past my bedtime, completely in denial of the approaching Monday morning rush!
So, this morning as my family and I rushed around the house getting ready for work, school, or housework...;) I could not help see that we were dragging our feet a little. Time to rid ourselves of the dreaded 'Monday-itis'.

To brighten my family's day, I simply turned on the stereo to some happy music and watched the atmosphere change. You have to try this, it really works. Before long there was a 'bop' in everyone's step - even if it was still rushed out the door.

I also could not help place some 'happy' and 'bright' paper, as a liner, in lunch boxes for a burst of cheerfulness at lunch. Such an easy idea, and my little Miss 5 loved it, as I was told with excitement when she got home later in the day.

Please share how you rid yourself of 'Monday-itis'? (Coffee is a good start! :) )

Check out these amazing lunch box food ideas for a bit of fun , they put my 'humble paper effort' to shame and convince me that all mums have different amazing gifts http://www.parenting.com/gallery/bento-lunch-boxes?pnid=114071

Hope you have a beautiful 'itis' free Monday.

Mother's Day Note Part 2

I love Mother's Day.

Happy Mother's Day to every Mother out there. I hope your day has been simply lovely. xx

I was thrilled this Mother's Day to receive a beautiful rocking chair.
This rocking chair belonged to my Mother - she passed onto heaven when I was younger.
A friend spent their Saturday beautifully restoring this broken, unusable, and ugly colored chair into this beautiful, white vintage looking piece.
I did help ;)  by sewing a bright yellow stripy cushion.
I spent Mother's day having cups of tea, eating my friends famous cinnamon with a sprinkle of chocolate 'Chelsie Buns', and rocking my two gorgeous daughters in my new rocking chair.
I hope this chair will be a special place to cuddle my girls, write letters and notes to all my friends, read, sip more tea, feel close to my own sweet mother, or simply sit to ponder my heart.
I think everyone needs a 'spot' to feel special and have special moments.

What did you love about your day?

Mothers Day Prep Note.

I love being a Mum.

My greatest joy was the day I became a mum.

I just love Mother's Day.

Think breakfast in bed with croissants and coffee... Ok, soggy toast and cold tea (made by Miss 5).
Then, gifts of diamond earrings or Jimmy Choo shoes... Ok, bright pink fluffy slippers that don't quite fit (excitedly given by Miss 5 and Miss 2).
Then, a relaxing hand pedicure... Ok, crazy coloured nail polished splattered fingers (by Miss 5's artistic taste).

Oh I love Mother's Day, and I would not have it any other way then with my soggy toast, bright slippers, and crazy hands.
I don't really care about what I get or what I am served but just that I have my adorable girls by my side. The best gift I ever received was becoming a mum.

However, if you want Mother's Day to be a special treat for you and you find yourself in a 'celebration fumble family'. Then hand the below list to: hubby, your children, or do this for your own Mum.  - It's ok to be a little direct about what you like for a fun day for you, just hinting never works. :)

1) Write a list of gift ideas that you would like to receive. This will help hubby and the kids out and avoid any unwanted toasters!!! ;) (unless you really want one!)

2) Wrap gifts in pretty paper. - A must to make you feel special. :)

3) Write what you love about your mum in a card.

4) Tell mum you love her on the day.

5) Tell your loved ones what you like to eat...

6) Tell your loved ones what you would like to do.

For us mums:
7) Be very excited, be ever so thankful, and receive the day's 'outcome' - soggy toast and all - knowing you are loved and those eager little smiles that hand over your breakfast or gift did so because they adore
you = pure love.

What do you look forward to the most on Mother's Day.
